Pace Control Focus

Learn to maintain form at race pace while building distance. During a race your first focus is usually consistency - and that is hard without a wall to bounce off every 25 yards.

Technique Focus Points

  • SPL. To learn what your pace feels like at the pool, keep your strokes-per-length count consistent.
  • Your Focus. For racing, this is an individual thing. Each swimmer will have one or more focus points while racing. Decide what these focus points are before the race.

What to Watch For

  • Inconsistency, which means your form has deteriorated
