Distance & Drafting & Posture Focus - Group Workout

Objectives: Distance is about endurance and pacing.

Set 1 - Warm-up; Dist = 400
1 X 400 Freestyle - Build to EN2

Set 2 - Conditioning + Drafting; Dist = 3200/2200

Practice drafting if you have suitable partner(s) to work with

4 X 800 Freestyle + one minute rest

Stop at every wall. 20 secs rest. Before leaving the wall, think butt, belly, neck, chin. For the first five sets, maintain intense focus for the entire 50 on only one thing, as follows

4 X 50 Freestyle: Focus on engaged glutes
4 X 50 Freestyle: Focus on engaged abs
4 X 50 Freestyle: Focus on long neck
4 X 50 Freestyle: Focus on chin back
4 X 50 Freestyle: Feel like a torpedo

Do the 400s with one minute rest
3 X 400 Freestyle with good posture

Set 4 (or 5) - Cool-down; Dist = 400
1 X 400 Freestyle Swim - Cat: REC

Total 3400 / 2800
