Different exercises can
be performed on the Pull Down machine, depending on the accessory attached to
the pull-down cable. To change accessories, follow the procedure outlined below.
Demo video - TBD - Remove
the weight pin.
- Removing or installing an accessory requires the use
of both hands, so before removing the current accessory, get the accessory that
you want to install, and place it at your feet (beside the footrest), so it will
not be out of reach after unclipping and putting down the current accessory.
- Reach
up with one hand and pull down the accessory currently installed, and take hold
of the carabiner at the end of the cable with the other hand. (If you're having
trouble pulling down the accessory or holding onto the carabiner, see step 1 above!)
- Open
the carabiner with one hand, and use the other hand to remove the accessory being
replaced.
- Put down the old accessory and pick up the new one, while still
holding the carabiner opened. Do not let go of the carabiner - the cable will
snap back to the ceiling, and you will have to climb onto the machine to reach
it.
- Install the new accessory in the carabiner, and slide the cable and
accessory gently back to the top of the machine (do not let it slam). If installing
the pull-down bar, have the "v" pointing down.
- If installing
the triceps rope, set a footstool on either side of the bench. If installing the
pull-down bar, remove the two footstools.
Tips: Removing
or installing pull-down machine accessories is easy, once you get the hang of
it. But struggling with the machine can make you may look like a klutz, so practice
changing these accessories until it is second nature. Links |
