Click here for instructions on how to use the video player. Use the Turn Comments On or Off buttons for voice-over comments. Note that you can play the clips one frame at a time or in slow motion using the player control buttons. Play the clips with and without comments, and then see the Drill Clips and Stills pages (above) for suggestions on how to deal with the issues mentioned.

Summary - Your stroke looks good. These are minor things - but the head position adjustment is worth trying out.

Priority
Recommendation
1
Catch and Pull. You flex your wrist to begin your catch, and that is not a bad thing, but your hand should stop in the water at that point. It does not, because simultaneous with flexing the wrist you are beginning to pull back on your elbow.
2

Posture. Your head is tilted forward a bit. Compare it with Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen's. I believe this makes it more difficult for you to get an early vertical forearm catch, because it tilts your shoulder girdle forward.

3

Breathing. It appears you are breathing 99% of the time to your right side. This may not be a problem. Try to check on that and if so, force yourself to breathe more frequently to the left. (Note - I did not add any voice comments for this observation.)
