You can edit the S-TAP configuration file manually, using any text editor. In most cases you will find it easier to modify S-TAP configurations from the Guardium administrator portal. If it is necessary to modify the configuration file from the database server, follow the procedure outlined below. When editing the configuration file, refer to the comments in the default configuration file for Unix or Windows S-TAP. See Default Unix S-TAP configuration file or Default Windows S-TAP configuration file.
Log on to the database server system using the root account.
Stop the S-TAP:
Make a backup copy of the configuration file: guard_tap.ini. It is located in one of the following directories, depending on the server operating system type:
Windows: \Windows\System32
Unix: /usr/local/guardium/guard_stap
Open the configuration file in a text editor.
Edit the file as necessary.
Save the file.
Restart S-TAP:
