One Good Stroke
This sequence illustrates the catch and pull portion of the stroke. The frames are spaced about one-fifth of a second apart.
The sequence begins with the swimmer's stroking arm at full extension.
In the first three shots, the swimmer is kicking with her right leg. But the foot doesn't move much -- this is a rotational kick. Her right foot anchors and kicks her right hip towards the surface.
