Breakwater Freestyle 1 - Lesson ? -
Streamline

Introducing Streamline Position (on the deck)

Standing Swimming Posture: Belly in, neck tall, chin back. Relax and then snap to good posture. Repeat several times. Get used to "snapping" into this position.

Standing Streamline: Begin in swimming posture (belly in, neck tall, chin back). Raise your arms straight overhead - hand over hand, wrist over wrist, head squeezed between arms. Relax and then snap to good posture. Repeat several times. Get used to snapping into this position.

Standing Off-the-Wall Streamline: Same as above, but rather than standing up straight, do the exercise while squatting 25%. This simulates your body position at the instant when you push off the wall. Burn in the sensation of snapping into a tight streamline position.

We won't be doing a full streamline in the water just yet, but you should start practicing the movement on dry land. Side balance is a streamlined position that you achieve on every stroke.

More info: See how Rollie Free set a world record with great streamline.
