Track Workout - Shorter, Faster Intervals

Objective: Train up your lactate threshold. Start the main set running the 400s at your 5K pace. Each time the distance decreases, you increase your speed and you get a longer rest relative to the work interval.

Warm Up

Perform a standard warm-up.

Main Set

4 x 400 at 5K pace with 1:30 rest
4 x 200 at 400 sprint pace with 2:00 rest
4 x 100 at near all-out sprint with 2:00 rest
(2800 total)

Cool Down15 minutes - walk 400, stretch for remainder of 15 minutes
